Do you ever feel a bit misunderstood? A little on the fray?
Has anyone ever told you that it couldn’t be done? Or that it was time to settle down, give up, stop dreaming?
It hurts a bit, doesn’t it? Even when you think you’re so far beyond being affected by folks who don’t understand your art, your way of life, your dreams and aspirations.
To me, I am still a bit shocked when I hear someone tell me they don’t get it, me, this, the way I am. Mostly because, I keep a very small circle around me. And I have worked hard to do so. Over time, I find kindred souls, and gather them into this thing I like to call a Tribe. I imagine it’s a grand circle of like minded people who nurture and inspire one another. I think that’s important to visionary types. A little protective coccoon.
But still, there will be times, when someone will make an offhand remark, or observation, and a little tiny seed of doubt will plant itself in my brain. And I won’t even bother with it, until I am laying in bed with this fear plant slowly growing and playing itself out in dismal thinking. So much so, that when I wake the next morning, I feel I need a paper bag to breathe into, to keep me from hyper ventillating.
Has this happened to you?
If it has, imagine me giving you a great big hug of support.
One of the great gifts of this Lifetime, is your innovation, your new way of thinking. And, it is one of your challenges too. There may not be a lot of people who initially “get” what you are trying to do. They themselves might not fathom a life so risky as to take adventures, or make bold decisions that render a lot of “unknowns”. That is perfectly ok, you know. There is a place for those who live this way. And there is a place for those who envision a grander dream for the world.
But … never, ever, ever allow that seed to discourage you.
If you were born a: bohemian, artist, adventurer, philosopher, visionary, dreamer, explorer, investigator, of any kind then there is a reason for that. It’s your core. Your purpose. And dare I say, it’s your innovation that continually changes the world just by your bravery. There is a need for you and your dreams.
Let’s make a deal… I will keep going, keep dreaming, keep trying if you do, ok?
Hugs always on the journey,
PS: How about you make one of those dream “catchers” for yourself. A jar full of your dreams. Inspire yourself with the adventures that await you. 😉
